The Knoll Guesthouse – Conveniently Located
Conveniently, The Knoll is located less than 5 minutes’ drive from Junction 27 of the M4 Motorway and just 10 minutes’ walk from Newport City Centre.
We are situated within an urban conservation area – close to the Cathedral of St. Woolos, both rail and bus stations, Belle Vue Park, the Royal Gwent and St. Woolos Hospitals, the Civic Centre & Law Courts and the Newport City Campus of The University of Wales.
Newport is 25 minutes east of Cardiff; 20 minutes west of Chepstow and 30 minutes west of Bristol; and just over 2 hours’ drive direct from London Heathrow Airport.
The Knoll is an ideal base from which to explore other areas of south east Wales – including the Gower Peninsular, Rhonda, Monmouthshire, the Brecon Beacons and the Usk & Wye Valleys.
The Knoll Guesthouse – For Your Convenience
Leave the M4 at Junction 27 and take the exit signposted to Newport City Centre (B4591). Follow this road across a roundabout then through 2 sets of traffic lights. The Knoll is sited on the very next corner on the right (corner of Stow Hill and Stow Park Avenue). Ignore GPS, AA and RAC Route Planners – the exit you want from the M4 is Junction 27 (not 24, 25 or 26).
We do not have our own car park, but there is FREE safe parking on adjacent streets where your host parks his car.
Although Newport Railway Station is 10 minutes’ walk downhill from us, it is a steep walk up from the Station. We recommend you take a taxi which costs approximately £4.00.
Newport Bus Station is also a stiff walk uphill, so again a taxi is recommended or a local bus, a number of which pass by The Knoll.
